Description

New and improved Gladiator 72v Compact GEN2, one of the most powerful drop-in batteries you can get for your Surron! This battery is designed to be a drop-in powerhouse when combined with an aftermarket controller.

Includes:

  • sweet new custom backlit percent display (see pics)
  • choice of the original Surron connector OR upgraded QS8 for big power transfer (QS8 is a larger, stronger anti-spark connector that requires installation/soldering the other end onto your breaker side as well)
  • reinforced carrying handle
  • hardware kit for stock-lid fitment

Why the 72v Compact over other batteries?

The list of upgrades for your Surron seems endless, right? The tough part is knowing which parts work best, which fit perfectly without issue, which ones are the best bang-for-the-buck. We're here to help. When it comes to batteries, some are made for range and some are made for power. Although most aftermarket batteries will give you significantly more range, holding increased power for longer periods of time can transform your Surron from a toy into an absolute monster.

Enter the Chi Gladiator 72v Compact Gen2. Where the 60v Compact may be better for range, the 72v Compact is a high-powered torque monster.

Stock setup: 72v batteries are not compatible with a stock Surron controller. You must upgrade your controller to use this battery.

BAC4000/BAC8000: This is an extremely popular upgrade. Brian runs the 72v Compact on his BAC8000 tuned to 12kw-15kw on his stock motor. This works well because Brian is 1) a very experienced motocross rider used to 450cc power and 2) an ever-so-slightly bigger rider at 6ft tall and 190lbs. The 72v Compact is an absolute rockstar for this type of power because it provides monster torque without overheating the stock motor as much. For reference, Nate overheated his stock motor 10+ times during the Redbull TKO. Even though he's only 160lbs, 60v power delivery is not as efficient as 72v. Brian and Brett only overheated their stock motor a few times when riding much faster. Simply put: 72v is better for higher power at longer periods of time without overheating.

KO Moto: Because this 72v Compact is rated to 22kw of real-world usable power, it can easily handle increased power for longer periods of time without issue. If you are considering the KO RS motor and Pro controller, this is the battery for you. We recommend the QS8 connector upgrade because this increased power will melt your OEM connector eventually.
