Sirris R38 Rear Shock for E Ride Pro SR & SS 3.0

For Fitment a Prickly Linkage is REQUIRED. Click HERE to purchase the Linkage.

Big moto performance. Bombproof durability.

The new Sirris R38 shock brings real big-bike suspension technology to compact e-motos, using proven internal architecture shared with the larger R46 platform and an oversized chassis built for serious abuse. While other shocks in this class fade, leak, and fail, this one is engineered to keep charging.

To accommodate the massive shock for smaller bikes, Sirris teamed up with Prickly to develop an R38 specific linkage that extends rear ride height by 25mm. Each bike model is precision-tuned and designed to pair perfectly with Sirris F43 CMX 220mm travel forks with drop clamps. It delivers unmatched balance, traction, and confidence at speed.

A completely new 2SC compression adjust system and massive oil flow deliver true moto-level damping feel, control, and consistency — worlds apart from the mountain bike-based shocks found on most compact e-motos. Tuned specifically for each bike model and designed to pair perfectly with Sirris F43 CMX forks, it delivers unmatched balance, traction, and confidence at speed.

More durability, control, and performance. Nothing else is built like it.

How We Did It

We didn’t start with a mountain bike shock and try to make it survive e-moto abuse. We started with our proven R46 moto platform and engineered it into a more compact package without sacrificing the strength, oil flow, or performance that make a true moto shock work.

The result is a compact shock with real moto DNA throughout.

Shared R46 Architecture

At the core is the same massive 16mm induction heat-treated hollow shaft used in the R46 — hard chrome plated for extreme durability and designed around maximum structural rigidity and oil flow through the main piston. Oversized seals and bushings further increase durability while allowing huge oil volume movement for unmatched consistency and control.

The shock also shares the same high-flow base valve cavity architecture, now updated with our new 2SC two-stage compression system featuring independent low and high-speed compression adjustment. The result is exceptional pressure balance, faster frequency response, and a level of responsiveness normally reserved for full-size motocross suspension.

Inside the reservoir, the same R46-spec internal floating piston system manages shaft displacement with precision, maintaining consistent damping feel under repeated hard hits and high heat loads.

Even the details are overbuilt. Ultra-durable chrome plated, teflon-lined spherical bearings replace the weak mountain bike-style bushings found in other compact shocks, while shared R46 sealing systems and bottom-out protection components deliver long-term reliability under real moto use.

Built Compact — Not Compromised

To fit modern compact e-motos, we developed an all-new 38mm high-flow main piston using true powersports architecture. Slightly smaller than the R46 piston but built with the same philosophy, it delivers massive tuning range and consistent damping performance far beyond anything in this category.

A new smaller diameter body, spring, retainers, and hardware package reduce overall size while preserving the oversized internal flow characteristics that define the shock’s ride quality.

New upper and lower chassis components were engineered specifically for compact bike fitment, carefully designed to maintain maximum rebound and compression oil flow without restriction.

The final package is lighter, tighter, and purpose-built for compact e-motos — but still unmistakably a real moto shock.

Shared R46 Architecture (abbreviated from section above)

  • Massive 16mm induction heat-treated hollow shaft with hard chrome finish — delivering extreme structural strength and huge oil flow through the main piston for true moto-level damping performance

  • Oversized seals and bushings maximize durability, oil control, and consistent flow under hard abuse

  • Shared R46 high-flow base valve cavity, now updated with the new 2SC compression assembly for maximum adjustability, superior pressure balance, and faster frequency response

  • Same R46 reservoir and internal floating piston system, specifically designed around the large 16mm shaft and high oil displacement demands

  • Ultra-durable chrome plated, teflon-lined spherical bearings in both the body cap and eyelet — no weak mountain bike-style bushings

  • Shared R46 sealing systems, MCU bottom-out bumper, and top-out bumper for long-term durability and controlled impact management

New 38 Platform Components (abbreviated from section above)

  • All-new 2SC two-stage compression system with independent low and high-speed compression adjustment

  • New 38mm high-flow powersports-style main piston delivering massive tuning range and responsive damping feel in a more compact package

  • New upper body cap engineered for tighter chassis fitment without sacrificing internal oil flow performance

  • New lower eyelet design maintains maximum rebound oil flow to the shaft and metering rod while fitting smaller bike platforms

  • Tool-free rebound adjustment for fast and easy trackside changes

  • Smaller diameter shock body, spring, retainers, and hardware package optimized specifically for compact e-moto fitment
