We Pushed the 2026 Zero XB to Its Limits—Here’s What Happened!
We took the 2026 Zero XB out for a proper spin—and it didn’t disappoint. This lightweight electric dirt bike delivers punchy performance, rugged versatility, and an approachable price point that’s reshaping the off‑road landscape.
Paper Specs vs Real World Riding
This bike feels like the perfect example of a machine that on paper doesn't give the whole picture of what it's capable of. On paper this bike has less Kw output than a Surron Light Bee, which seems rather lame in the grand scheme of bikes coming out in 2025... However the moment you throw your leg over it is when you realize that the Zero XB is one of the best handling E-Moto's in the Hyper Weight Class.
Upgrade Path
It's important to mention that the Zero XB that Athlete Brett Baldwin tested in the video above is not bone stock. There were a few key upgrades to make this bike perform to its potential, but these are upgrades we do on quite literally every bike we test, reason being they are crucial for comfort, handling, and traction.
- Handlebars: In this case we went with the Warp9 3" Riser Bar to give additional height as well as a bend that is familiar.
-
Direct Mount Stem: This is a must on all bikes we do, the Warp9 Transformer Direct Mount Stem allows multiple height adjustments to give you the position you need. On the Zero XB however it did come with some hardship to get mounted.
- The best way to install a direct mount stem onto the Zero XB is to remove the Headlight. The headlight bracket interferes with the mounting positions of the stem. The Headlight on this bike is not very good anyway so you're better off removing this and putting on a better headlight, like the Gigigo GI02 or GI03 as well as a front number plate to allow for a much better light and ease of installation.
- Foot Pegs: Installing a good foot peg is a must. There are a ton of different options to choose from, mainly because all Surron Light Bee X foot pegs will fit onto the Zero XB. We are very happy Zero went with this standard so that the aftermarket did not have to spend time catching up to the bike.
- 16/19 Wheels: Possible one of the most important upgrades you can make to the Zero XB are 16/19 Wheels. Because Zero stuck to the same standard as Surron Light Bee for their wheel specs this made life extremely simple for finding and installing great wheels. This is crucial to stance the bike well for a more aggressive and controllable feel as well as provide traction that the bike desperately needs over the stock wheel setup.
